A warm welcome to the 34rd edition of Copenhagen Jazz Festival that since 1979 developed into a major event not only for jazz entusiasts - but for the whole city of Copenhagen with more than 260000 guests making it a vibrant lively city for 10 days in July.

This year the festival is larger than ever. Over 100 fantastic venues and several hundred dedicated music lovers working behind the scenes to make this happen. This is necessary to run a festival with more than a 1000 (!) concerts ranging from the biggest international stars to the Danish upcoming artists and the avant- garde reaching far beyond the common reception of jazz music.

Copenhagen Jazz Festival put a great emphasize on the festival being a collaborative, inclusive and peaceful event that serves the large and diverse audience: both local and tourists, both enthusiasts and relaxed music listeners, both young and old. The festival offers a wide range of concerts that are free and takes place in the streets and on the city squares. Cafés turn into cozy in- terimistic venues. The hazy jazz clubs are filled with all kinds of listeners. The old theaters, concert halls and traditional venues becomes alive again in this recurring celebration of jazz music – if you stick to the definition of the word festival.

As a nonprofit foundation Copenhagen Jazz Festival aim to serve, build and support the Danish jazz scene. Spread the word!
