Copenhagen Jazz Festival presents its improved and free festival app for iPhone/iPad and Android
22/06
When Copenhagen Jazz Festival hits town only two weeks from now, the festivalgoers will be able to navigate their way through the immense program using their smartphone or tablet. Today, the festival released the new official app for iPhone, iPad and Android. The app features the full program, daily festival news, descriptions of all 1,100 concerts, GPS-navigation and much more. In continuation of the festival, the app will function as an all year jazz guide to Copenhagen.

Android
- or search for “Copenhagen Jazz Festival” at iTunes App Store and Google Play.
- Our guests express an increasing interest in being able to access the festival using their phones. The app is a pocket sized supplement to the printed program taking advantage of all the opportunities, the phone offers – like finding your way through the city and listing concerts after your needs, says festival director Signe Lopdrup.
- A new app feature is the calendar that will guide jazz lovers to jazz concerts in Copenhagen all year round. Also, the festival will provide the user with daily festival news from Jazz Live (unfortunately only in Danish). We have attempted to make an app that will make it easy for the audience to navigate their way through the program and the 120 venues, explains developer Esben Christensen.
The app is free and was downloaded more than 10,000 times during last year’s festival. The app uses the phone’s GPS to keep the user updated on what is playing near him at all times. The app also allows the user to find information on all shows and watch videos of the festival’s headliners, while the festival’s official media partner Politiken will deliver daily news via Jazz Live, just as you can get updates from Facebook, Jazz.dk and use Twitter with the official festival-hashtag #cphjazz.
The application has been developed in collaboration with the Canadian firm Greencopper. Greencopper has immense experience in developing applications for music festivals and has developed apps for Montreal Jazz Festival, Paris Jazz Festival, Hultsfred Festival and Shanghai Jazz Festival. Copenhagen Jazz Festival’s app has been among the best reviewed music apps on the Danish market since its initial release in 2010.
Copenhagen Jazz Festival 2012 takes place July 6-15.
