Enrico Pieranunzi has long been one of the best-known and appreciated personalities on the world jazz scene. The 59-year old pianist, composer and arranger has recorded more than seventy cd’s under his own name, ranging from solo piano to trio, and from duet to quintet. He has played in concert and in the studio with Chet Baker, Lee Konitz, Chris Potter, Paul Motian and Charlie Haden, performing at all the most important international festivals, from Montreal to Copenhagen, from Berlin and Madrid to Jerusalem. This evening at “The Black Diamond” Pieranunzi will play with his Danish friends, drummer Jonas Johansen and bass player Jesper Lundgaard - a very succesful collaboration that was one of the absolute highlights of VinterJazz 2008.
